I carry rods, a hand auger, a drain wand and a 3000-psi jetter on the van. Inside (sinks, basins, baths, toilets) is usually 30 minutes. External drains (manhole, gully, soil stack) we'll often jet, CCTV survey if it's a repeat blockage, and write up the findings for the insurer.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Locate the blockage

    Test each fixture in the room, then the manhole if external. Usually obvious in five minutes which run is blocked.

  2. Step 2

    Clear it

    Rods, hand auger, drain wand or jetter — whichever is right for the job. No chemicals.

  3. Step 3

    Run it clear

    Full flow test, run the tap for 10 minutes, watch the manhole. If it backs up again we keep going until it's done properly.

  4. Step 4

    Survey if repeat

    If it's the third time this year, we'll put the CCTV camera down and find out why — usually a displaced joint or root ingress we can patch-line later.

Can I use drain cleaner first?

Don't. Caustic crystals damage your stack, ruin chrome, and most of the time don't shift the blockage anyway. Call us, we'll have it gone in an hour for less than a bottle of Mr Muscle costs in damage.

What if it keeps blocking?

It's a root or a displaced joint. We CCTV the run, locate the defect to within 5cm, and quote a no-dig patch-liner repair from £650 — no driveway dig.
